In God’s Image
Humanity supposes they are alone in their quest for identity. Their quest for Truth. I say, that all life pursues the same goals, at different levels of consciousness. We are all formed in the image of God.

Indeed we are all in the image of God. Thank you for sharing this post 😀
I LOVE this! (So do my kids.) Thanks so much for posting it!
It is one of my favourite videos.
I agree and wonder why so many feel otherwise.
Actually the scriptures say God created man in his image, male and female but I love the clip and like the guy said at the end ‘that elephant can draw way better then I can’
This elephant seems to have a better sense of itself than most humans I know. I love this fellow!
lovely post – agree
Awesome! So, very true!
Elephants are among the various animals who can identify themselves in a mirror.
So true that we are all made in the image of God. This makes for a cute video but I have to say what elephant would do this on their own? I don’t like to see animals doing things that are so far off from the natural order of things. Not knocking you posting the video. Just saying. Thanks for visiting my blog and liking my post.
I agree. I don’t think elephants are necessarily enjoing the act of painting. But you cannot train an animal to do something like that. It must be learned, and understood by the elephant. It is not a knee-jerk response, I cannot believe that. The point I am making is that Elephants are just as conscious as we are.
Am I the only one who feels sorry for these elephants? Great video, but they’re exploiting the elephants . . . that sweetie was having a great time interacting with the people, but she had to be poked along . . .
I understand they have been abused and treated poorly and my heart surely breaks when I watch this video. The point I am trying to make is that an elephant just painted a self-portrait. If that Elephant is not conscious then neither am I. All the more reason to leave them alone in Nature.
I totally agree. The elephants have so much emotion and soul. You could tell how happy it made her to share and get treats and affection from the audience, even to paint. I thought it was amazing that you could see her feel around her body to count her legs and make sure she got every detail. Human beings are so selfish to think that they are the only sentient beings. I would bet it’s possible that even amoeba are sentient at least in their own way.
I am in 100% agreement!

I definitely agree with the idea that humanity tends to think of itself as high above the rest of living things on Earth and that this isn’t as true as we like to think.
When you say “in God’s image”, do you mean it in a Christian context though? Because in that context animals are beneath humans, in that humans are given authority over animals and are allowed to use them for work or food.
Which to me contradicts the idea you’re expressing.
I am not trying to endorse this belief system. I am using the Judeo/Christian context to illustate that we feel God looks human, because we are human. Elephants would see God as an Elephant. In my opinion all conscious beings (and this seems to include almost everything) are equal. Animals are a different expression of consciousness, but not an inferior one.
I agree with you 100% x) just not too comfortable with your choice of words haha.
I like to push the envelope… I hope I do not offend in the process.
Humans are created in God’s image, that I agree on. But I must say that this elephant is really gifted! May God touch the hearts of people to take care of God’s wonderful creations. We are mere stewards of the Lord. We do not own our bodies, all the more the universe. Thanks for sharing this very interesting video! And thanks for visiting my blog and liking some of my works. To God be the glory! God bless you!

After feeling awful all week, rather than complaining I wanted to share with you today an amazing video post. This sweet elephant paints her self portrait. While I personally feel the elephants are being exploited, the video goes to show how human they are. We are not the only sentient beings in the world, we should remember this and always, ALWAYS live in Love.
Happy Friday
