The Very Inspiring Blogger Award
It seems that the Alternate Economy has been awarded another title. “The Very Inspiring Blogger Award” was offered to me by one of my faithful blogging friends, Judith Atwood, of Diabetic Redemption. Judith is working on a novel and has many beautiful and inspirational posts to browse on her blog. Please take a few minutes to check it out.
As for the Award, there are a few conditions before I can accept it completely.
– 7 new and interesting things about myself, not yet revealed on this blog:
1) I used to breed African Lovebirds as a teenager. I had 3 pairs, one cream coloured, one bright yellow, and one olive green variety.
2) I am not much of a dancer, but give me a couple of drinks and I will soon forget. Watch your toes, though…
3) I was a vegan for a while, until I realized that vegetables have feelings too. Now I just live off of sunshine.
4) That last one is only half-true… I require copious amounts of salt water as well.
5) I was somewhat of a local legend in highschool… but only amongst the senior community-theater going crowd. I was in the newspaper more times than I can remember, always with my mouth wide open and my eyes closed. Everyone in town could recognize my tonsils…
6) At a cast party after one of these shows, my family doctor informed me, after several glasses of wine, that if he could make it through medical school anyone could… I remembered thinking to myself that it did seem odd that he had graduated…
7) My dreams of being a doctor ended rather quickly when I got a D in first year physics… oops. Looks like I will need a new way to help people…
I will be nominating others for this award as well, but I need a little time to digest it. I do not like just throwing nominations around. I want to make sure the right blogs are receiving the awards. So, keep your eyes peeled, as your blog may be appearing here in the near future!
Congratulations!
thank you!
Ditto kiddo!
Congratulations on the award!
Oh, your birds! I adored the one you sold me. Unfortunately, she took her own life, quite dramatically, by breaking for her own neck while performing her crazy acrobatics when she was only two.
Also, I think that #4 is a cop out answer and demand another unknown fact. :p
Congrats on the award.
Just for you Lesley…
4) I lived for a brief period of time in Cairo, Egypt, where I attempted to learn hieroglyphics. This is much harder than it sounds, as ancient Egyptian is technically a dead language, the only real key to its meaning being the Rosetta Stone. The museum in Cairo has more artifacts than any other museum in the world, but to see the Rosetta Stone, you have to go to London, England… so, that’s what I did. Still not fluent in ancient Egyptian yet, but I have translated several interesting sarcophagi… There were a lot of gifts being given to various gods at that time…
Congrats! Especially love #3 and #4
Congratulations!
